Found wandering and afraid, Toffee is now the happiest dog on the block.
Some stories stay with you forever... and Mosaic and Greyson’s journey is one of them. From neglected to loved
These two boys came to us months ago after being surrendered by their families. They arrived neglected, severely matted, and emotionally shut down. It was clear they had not been treated with the care and kindness every dog deserves. We also suspected that negative experiences with children played a role in their fear and reactivity.
Mosaic had already been rehomed and returned four times. Greyson had been returned once for the very same reason, and it was their reactivity toward kids. Each return could have broken them completely… but we refused to give up on them.
No matter how many times they came back, we kept trying. We kept believing that somewhere out there was a family who would understand them, be patient with them, and love them for who they are.
And then, that family came along. "There is no way we are returning them"
Not only did they open their hearts to one brother but they reunited both boys again. From the moment we met them, something felt different. When we saw how calm and respectful the children were around Mosaic and Greyson, we knew this could finally be the home they had been waiting for. Their parents had clearly taught them gentleness, patience, and compassion.
Since being in their new home, Mosaic and Greyson have still had little setbacks and triggers along the way. Healing is never linear. But what makes this family so special is that they never once considered giving up.
Their words were: “There is no way we are returning them. We know their triggers and quirks, and we will work through them when they arise. They deserve love and patience.”
This is what rescue is about
Not perfect dogs. Not perfect journeys. Just people willing to love them through it all.
We could not be happier that Mosaic and Greyson finally found the family they truly deserve.
